Civil War 150
A&E TV Networks' History.com wanted to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War by creating an interactive experience highlighting important facts and details about the war. The microsite became an interactive infographic where users could learn about 6 different topics including "Who They Were," "How They Died," and "5 Deadliest Battles," as well as a wiki that covered 150 different subjects.
The most challenging, but also most informative process was going through the knowledgebase of facts and discover and map out relationships in order to create compelling infographic points. The site was awarded FWA Site of the Day
, and Communication Arts Webpick of the Week
. It has also been selected by the US Library of Congress for inclusion as a historic collection of Internet materials related to the American Civil War Sesquicentennial.
